Well, it’s been a while. I apologize for not giving an update sooner, but time seems to be flying by! Without further ado, here is a summary of The Sunrise Funds events and accomplishments of 2022 and 2023:
Our 2022 Golf Tournament raised over $26,000 to help people into recovery and sober living. Congrats to our lucky winners Drew Dominick, Dean Babine, Jeff Hobbs, and JD Aspesi!
On December 1, 2022, our co-founder Christian celebrated 11 years of sobriety! We are grateful for Christian’s dedication to The Sunrise Fund and for all the extra support he gives people who are struggling to get sober. We are all thankful for you Christian, keep up the good work!
The Sunrise Fund is proud to have given a donation towards Gloucester’s first Peer Recovery Center, CORE. More information can be found on their website: https://corerecovery.org
The Sunrise Fund has recently partnered with a local men’s sober house in Gloucester called Twin Lights Recovery. The founder and Gloucester native, Jay Favaloro, started this program to give back to his community and to help those struggling, as he once did. So far in 2023, we have spent $39,000 to scholarship 17 people into recovery!
2022 & 2023 Scholarships The Sunrise Fund has granted a total of $205,095 in Scholarship funds, helping 79 addicts (38 females & 41 males) into recovery. This number is nothing short of incredible and it exceeds ALL expectations and MOST importantly, it wouldn’t have been possible without everyone’s support.
